
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP, led Ghana’s delegation to the Ad Hoc Ministerial Meeting on the Rotation of Statutory Appointees and the Extraordinary Session of the ECOWAS Council of Ministers on the Recruitment and the Case of Staff from AES Countries on Grade P4 and below, held in Abuja, Nigeria, from 7th to 9th October 2025.
He was supported by the Deputy Minister for Finance, Hon. Thomas Nyarko Ampem, and H.E. Baba Jamal Mohammed Ahmed, Ghana’s High Commissioner-designate to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The two meetings, convened by the ECOWAS Commission, brought together Ministers and senior officials from Member States to deliberate on critical issues relating to the rotation of statutory positions, recruitment processes within ECOWAS institutions, and the status of staff from Member States of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).
