Welcome to Ghana Culture Week

2 Mar, 2026 General

The Ghana High Commission in Abuja, warmly welcomes you to Ghana Culture Week. This special celebration is observed from 2nd to 6th March as part of the Ghana Month Celebrations in honour of our beloved nation.

Ghana Culture Week is dedicated to promoting Ghanaian culture, products, cuisine, tourism, creativity, and everything that makes Ghana uniquely exceptional. It is a time for Ghanaians at home and in the diaspora, as well as friends of Ghana, to celebrate our heritage, unity, and national pride.

March holds a special place in our history as we commemorate Ghana’s Independence on 6th March, when Ghana, under the visionary leadership of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, became the first Sub-Saharan African country to gain independence from colonial rule in 1957.

From our vibrant traditional attire and music to our world-renowned dishes and innovative enterprises, Ghana Culture Week highlights the spirit of resilience, creativity, and excellence that defines us as a people.

This week, we proudly celebrate:

  • Ghana’s Independence
  • Ghana’s rich culture
  • Our thriving industries and products; and
  • Our vibrant tourism destinations

Join us as we honour our journey, reflect on our achievements, and look forward to a brighter future together.

Happy Ghana Culture Week!
