The Ghana High Commission in Abuja participated in the vibrant Lisabi Festival & Egbaliganza 2026 , a remarkable celebration of the rich cultural heritage of Egbaland, with representation from about 50 countries across the diplomatic community. From the stunning fusion of Aso-oke and Adire to the pulsating rhythms and colourful displays, the experience was truly immersive.

A key highlight was the goodwill extended by His Royal Majesty, the Alake of Egbaland, together with His Royal Highness, Ààré-òna-Kakanfo of Egbaland, during a special ceremony. As part of this expression of goodwill, members of the diplomatic corps were conferred with the Royal Titles of Àsoju Alake Ègbá and the Awótèlè of Àsoju Kurunmi Ijaiye, signifying their acceptance and integration into the Egba cultural community.. The Ghana delegation proudly adorned Kente cloth during the unveiling of the symbolic Unity Drum, reflecting harmony, shared identity, and cultural pride.

Beyond the ceremonies, the festival fostered meaningful connections, strengthened friendships, and reaffirmed the power of culture in bringing people together. Ghana remains proud to celebrate and share in the richness of African heritage.
